On a late summer evening in Lansing, Michigan, the life of 77-year-old Abel Gonzalez was tragically cut short in a burst of violence that struck at the heart of his family's home. Shortly before 11:30 p.m. on the night of August 19, 2022, the sound of gunfire echoed through the 1100 block of Camp Street. Several bullets penetrated the Gonzalez residence, with some shattering windows and finding their way into the bedroom where Abel was resting.
