In the spring of 2021, the life of 22-year-old Kian Maliak Miller, Jr., a Black/African American male, was cut short by gun violence in Lansing, Michigan. On the afternoon of Sunday, May 16, 2021, police responded to a shooting in the 4200 block of Burchfield Avenue. There, they discovered Miller and another man, Timothy Isador Minor III, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both men were rushed to Sparrow Healthcare System for medical attention, but tragically, neither survived their injuries. ...
