In the summer of 2020, a young man's life was abruptly cut short on a street in Lansing, Michigan. Dhanthan Amadi-Devoe Boggan Jr., a 19-year-old male, was fatally shot on June 3, 2020. The incident unfolded in the 900 block of Johnson Avenue, where an argument escalated into deadly violence. Boggan was struck by gunfire during the dispute and was quickly transported to a local hospital for his injuries.
Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his wounds.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the individual responsible and others who were present fled the scene, prompting a search by law enforcement. The investigation into Boggan's death led authorities to identify 26-year-old Terrance Leonte Wallace Jr., also from Lansing, as the suspected shooter. In a turn of events, Wallace later turned himself in to the police.
Following his surrender, Wallace was formally charged in connection with Dhanthan Boggan's death. The charges brought against him included murder and weapons offenses. During his arraignment in 54A District Court, a judge ordered that he be held without bond as the legal process moved forward. The case was set for a subsequent hearing to determine if there was sufficient evidence for the matter to proceed to trial.
