On a late summer evening in Lansing, Michigan, the life of Anthony Wayne Wright Jr., a 36-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On August 27, 2022, Wright was discovered inside a vehicle on the 3200 block of South Washington Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency services rushed him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved fatal. His death was the 13th homicide in the city that year.
