In the late hours of May 4, 2014, the life of Jo Lee Van Buren, a 30-year-old Caucasian male from Lansing, Michigan, was brought to a violent and tragic end. The fatal encounter unfolded within the supposed sanctuary of his own home located on Roosevelt Avenue. It was there that an intruder, a masked gunman, broke in and confronted Van Buren, leading to a struggle. The altercation culminated in Van Buren being shot.
