On May 4, 2024, 14-year-old Ja'Quez Jewan Moye-Young was fatally shot in Lansing, Michigan. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. in the 1400 block of West Oakland Avenue. Emergency responders transported Moye-Young to the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
