In the spring of 2015, the life of 25-year-old Eric Anthony Jackson was tragically cut short in Lansing, Michigan. On the evening of Saturday, April 18th, Jackson, a Black male, was fatally wounded by gunfire in the area of Autumn and Northrup streets. The incident prompted an immediate response from the Lansing Police Department, who quickly launched an investigation into the city's latest homicide.
Within a short period, authorities were able to identify and apprehend an individual
believed to be responsible for the shooting. The day following the incident, a suspect was taken into custody by the Lansing Police. By Monday, April 20th, the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office had filed charges against a Lansing man in connection with the fatal shooting. The suspect was formally charged with one count of open murder, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of felony firearm.
Following the charges, the suspect was arraigned in 54-A District Court. A judge subsequently denied bond for the accused, ensuring he would remain in custody as the legal process moved forward. The case then proceeded through the court system, with a preliminary hearing scheduled to determine if there was sufficient evidence for the case to go to trial.
