In the early evening of June 8, 2025, tragedy struck in Lansing, Michigan, when Marvin High Jr., a 58-year-old Black/African American male, was fatally shot. The incident unfolded around 5:38 p.m. in the 3300 block of Bardaville Street. Responding to the scene, police and fire personnel discovered High with gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
