In the early morning hours of Valentine's Day in 2022, a domestic dispute in a south side Lansing, Michigan neighborhood turned fatal, claiming the life of 43-year-old Arthur Artavius Newcombe. The incident unfolded around 8 a.m. inside a residence in the 2000 block of Teel Avenue. When police initially responded, they were directed to a different location, the 100 block of Mount Hope Avenue, where they discovered Newcombe suffering from a gunshot wound.
