Rickey Kennedy was a 64-year-old man from Vidalia, Louisiana, who crossed the state line into rural Franklin County, Mississippi, for a hunting trip on Friday, December 12, 2014. That morning, in the woods near the small community of Hamburg, what should have been a familiar, seasonal outing turned suddenly fatal. At a hunting camp situated off Highway 33 North near Old Hamburg Road, a gunshot ended his life and left his family and friends facing the shock of an unexpected loss far from home.
