On October 13, 2017, 23-year-old Travis Sumerall was tragically shot and killed outside the Green Lantern Bar and Grill on Cedar Street in Durant, Mississippi. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. and stemmed from an argument that took place outside the bar. Sumerall was transported to a hospital in Lexington by a private vehicle, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
