In the quiet town of Durant, Mississippi, a grim discovery was made on the side of Huckleberry Road. On February 3, 2025, the body of 18-year-old Karterius Barksdale, a Black male, was found. An investigation by the Holmes County Sheriff's Department determined that the young man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. It soon became apparent that this was not just a tragic loss of life, but also a robbery, as Barksdale's white 2004 GMC Yukon was missing.
