In the summer of 2024, a domestic dispute in Kosciusko, Mississippi, tragically ended the life of 31-year-old Markquarius Jones. On the afternoon of Thursday, August 8, 2024, events escalated at a Marathon gas station on Highway 12 East, resulting in a fatal shooting. Law enforcement was called to the Baptist Medical Center-Attala, where Jones had been taken after sustaining a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
