On August 8, 2024, 31-year-old Markquarius Jones was fatally shot during a domestic dispute with his wife, 25-year-old Semyia Jones, in Kosciusko, Mississippi. The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. at the Marathon gas station on Highway 12 East. Following the shooting, Markquarius was transported to Baptist Medical Center–Attala, where he was pronounced dead.
