In the winter of 2014, the life of a young Black man, 24-year-old Reondricus Rogers, was tragically cut short in Meridian, Mississippi. On the evening of December 15th, police responded to a call of a shooting around 6:15 p.m. in the 800 block of 25th Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Rogers, who had sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest from a small-caliber handgun. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
