In the spring of 2023, the life of 23-year-old Jakavion Adams, a male resident of Meridian, Mississippi, was cut tragically short. On the afternoon of May 23rd, Adams was in the parking lot in the 4600 block of Poplar Springs Drive when he was fatally shot multiple times. The brutal nature of the incident, with some witnesses describing the gunfire as sounding like a machine gun, led law enforcement to believe the shooting may have been a retaliatory act.
