On a tragic evening in Vicksburg, Mississippi, the life of 19-year-old Benjamin Brooks, Jr. was cut short. On May 27, 2017, the young Black male was found deceased in the home he shared with his girlfriend and her mother on Starlight Drive. Police responded to a call around 10:02 p.m. and discovered Brooks with a fatal gunshot wound to his upper back. A handgun was found lying near his body.
