On the early morning of February 22, 2020, tragedy struck in Vicksburg, Mississippi, when 29-year-old Brandin Lane, a Black male, was found mortally wounded outside a residence. The incident took place at a home located at 240 Bazinsky Road, where peace was shattered by violence in the pre-dawn hours. Vicksburg Police Department officers received a call at approximately 2:40 a.m. alerting them to the situation. Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered Lane lying in the front yard of the property, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.
First responders acted quickly to attend to the victim, transporting him to Merit Health River Region for emergency medical treatment.
