In the summer of 2017, a domestic dispute in Mount Pleasant, Mississippi, ended in the tragic death of 45-year-old Marvin Collins. On the evening of June 27th, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Collins was fatally shot at a residence on Mount Pleasant Church Road. The male victim was a Black / African American resident of the home where the incident occurred.
Authorities investigating the shooting quickly identified a suspect, 38-year-old Erikka Lee, who also resided at the same address as
Collins. Lee was taken into custody shortly after the event. The investigation determined that the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute between Lee and Collins.
Following her arrest, Erikka Lee was charged with the murder of Marvin Collins. The case proceeded through the legal system, with a bond being set for Lee. The incident drew attention to the serious nature of domestic violence and its potential for fatal consequences within the community.
