On January 21, 2023, 17-year-old Khalil Marwan Saleem II was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting at Silverado Park in Long Beach, California. Khalil, a student at Lakewood High School and a member of the football team, was playing basketball at the park when an SUV drove by and opened fire.
