In the winter of 2018, the life of 16-year-old Xavier Davison was tragically cut short in Moss Point, Mississippi. On the evening of Friday, February 9th, the young man was visiting the home of 22-year-old Jeylen Oneil Fountain when a dispute between them escalated with fatal consequences. What began as an argument spiraled into a physical altercation and ultimately ended in gunfire.

At approximately 8:57 p.m., police were called to the 3500 block of Rollins Street after a woman reported hearing several gunshots. By the time authorities arrived, individuals at the residence were already in the process of transporting Xavier to the hospital. He had sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest and, despite their efforts, succumbed to his injury at Singing River Hospital.

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Jeylen Fountain fled the scene, prompting law enforcement to issue a bulletin for his arrest throughout Jackson County. However, his time on the run was brief. The following day, Fountain voluntarily surrendered to the Moss Point Police Department. Initially, he was arrested on a charge of manslaughter.

Following his arrest, the legal proceedings against Jeylen Fountain began to take shape. While the initial charge was manslaughter, this was later upgraded to murder, reflecting a more severe view of the circumstances surrounding Xavier Davison's death. Fountain was subsequently booked into the Jackson County jail and held without bond as he awaited trial. The specifics of what led to the argument that fateful night remain undisclosed by authorities.
