In the late summer of 2022, the community of Moss Point, Mississippi, was shaken by the untimely death of Eric Dean Barnes, a 52-year-old Black male. On August 25, 2022, family members made a grim discovery at his home in the 3500 block of Azalea Street, finding Barnes deceased. It was determined that he had been shot to death.
