In the spring of 2018, the life of Jovorski Jashaun Blackmon, a 27-year-old Black/African American man from Byram, Mississippi, was tragically cut short. On the evening of Sunday, May 6th, violence erupted at a pool hall on Bailey Avenue in Jackson, shattering the lives of multiple families. Gunfire erupted, and in the aftermath, Jovorski Blackmon and another man, 28-year-old Terrance Terry, lay dead. A third individual was also wounded in the shooting but survived.
