In the early hours of a Thursday morning in Jackson, Mississippi, the life of Joshua Fulgham was tragically cut short. On January 14, 2021, the 25-year-old Black/African American man was shot multiple times on Maple Street. The incident, which occurred around 12:30 a.m., also left a 37-year-old woman injured. She was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Initial reports suggested that Fulgham and the woman were in the process of buying drugs when another man opened fire on
them. The shooting left Fulgham with fatal injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His death was one of two separate double shootings that occurred in Jackson within hours of each other.
