Jockeyus Wright, a 17-year-old from Jackson, Mississippi, tragically lost his life on May 22, 2019. Wright was walking on McDowell Road in South Jackson when he was shot in the neck by Charles D. Willis and Stefan Champion, who were in a vehicle at the time. The motive for the shooting stemmed from a prior dispute between Willis and Wright. Wright's death was a significant loss to his family and community, as he was remembered for his love of sports, music, and his vibrant personality.
