In the late hours of a Friday night in Natchez, Mississippi, a domestic dispute tragically escalated, claiming the life of 31-year-old Troy Whittington, a male volunteer fire chief. On March 1, 2019, Whittington and a fellow firefighter, Jason Haley, were at a friend's home on Quasar Street after attending a local Mardi Gras parade. They were accompanying a woman and her children when her estranged husband, Jonathan Beach, arrived and attempted to force his way into the residence.
