In the late hours of an autumn evening in Natchez, Mississippi, the life of 23-year-old Scottie Rodgers, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On October 4, 2019, Rodgers and a female companion, Curleesia Knight, arrived at the emergency room of Merit Health, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
