James Carr, a 22-year-old freshman from Itta Bena, Mississippi, tragically lost his life on February 17, 2020, in a shooting incident near Port Gibson, Mississippi. The shooting occurred at "The Ark," a popular off-campus hangout frequented by students from Alcorn State University. On that fateful night, Carr, along with 20-year-old Tahir Fitzhugh and two other students, were victims of a violent attack.
