In the summer of 2021, a quiet street in Laurel, Mississippi was shattered by a tragic act of violence that claimed the life of 52-year-old Ucurtis Pollard. A Black male, Mr. Pollard was found deceased in his truck, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound to the head on August 11th. The events unfolded at a residence on Chippewah Drive, prompting a response from the Jones County Sheriff's Department to reports of a double shooting.
