On a late summer evening in Laurel, Mississippi, the life of 43-year-old Quincy Pruitt was tragically cut short. On Saturday, September 5, 2026, Pruitt was fatally shot following a dispute that escalated to violence. The incident, which has left the local community shaken, reportedly stemmed from a physical altercation over an electric bicycle. This sudden and violent end to Pruitt's life set in motion a swift-moving police investigation that would soon lead to the identification of three suspects.
The Laurel Police Department quickly began looking for those responsible for the weekend shooting. Their investigation, aided by witness statements and Ring camera footage, led them to identify Eric Drummond Junior, Jhavon Grayson, and Clifton Bell as persons of interest. In the days following the shooting, the investigation intensified, with law enforcement actively searching for the three men. The first to be apprehended was Eric Drummond Junior, who was taken into custody and initially charged with murder.
