On April 12, 2024, 31-year-old Kendale James Hunter was fatally shot at the Shadowood Park Apartments on Old Amy Road in Laurel, Mississippi. The incident also involved a female victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds and the kidnapping of a two-year-old child.
