Seventeen-year-old Jamal Pruitt, a male from Laurel, Mississippi, was shot late on the morning of May 24, 2025, on Marion Drive. First responders brought Jamal Pruitt, age 17, to South Central Regional Medical Center, and he was later transferred to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg as his condition worsened.
