In the summer of 2024, the life of Charles Vincent Anderson, a 59-year-old White male known to his loved ones as Butch, was tragically cut short in his lifelong hometown of Laurel, Mississippi. Born on February 20, 1965, Anderson was a man who found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, with a particular fondness for fishing. Above all, he cherished the love he had for his mother and his children.
On July 2, 2024, a violent encounter at a residence in Laurel ended Anderson's life.
He suffered a gunshot wound and was quickly transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts to save him, Anderson succumbed to his injuries, leaving a void in the hearts of his family and friends. His passing was a result of gun violence.
The Jones County Sheriff's Department launched an investigation into the fatal shooting. Their efforts led to the apprehension of a suspect, identified as Duane Clark, who was also from Laurel. Clark has since been charged in connection with the shooting death of Charles Anderson. News reports at the time indicated that a Laurel man had been charged with second-degree murder in the overnight shooting in Jones County.

He is also survived by his siblings, Lynn Robbins, Allen Anderson, and Joan.
