In the late hours of a Thursday in Laurel, Mississippi, a domestic dispute inside a convenience store tragically escalated, leading to the death of 54-year-old Terry Merrill. The African American man was fatally shot in the chest outside the Scott and Pops Store on Ellisville Boulevard on March 21, 2024. Despite being rushed to South Central Regional Medical Center, Merrill succumbed to his injuries.
