On March 21, 2024, 54-year-old Terry Merrill was fatally shot outside the Scott and Pops Store on Ellisville Boulevard in Laurel, Mississippi. The incident reportedly began as a domestic altercation inside the store, escalating into violence outside, where Merrill sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.
