Melissa Turner, a 39-year-old resident of Jackson, Mississippi, tragically lost her life on August 20, 2021. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. while she was waiting at a traffic light at the intersection of Woodrow Wilson Avenue and West Street. Melissa was accompanied by her 16-year-old son at the time of the shooting. According to reports, she was shot once in the shoulder and was immediately transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
