Naya Marlane Jackson, an 18-year-old from Canton, Mississippi, tragically lost her life on December 25, 2021. The incident occurred at the Links Apartments on Highway 51 south in Canton. According to Canton Police Chief Otha Brown, the shooting was reported at 12:01 a.m. on Christmas Day. The circumstances surrounding her death were initially described as an accidental shooting.
