In the predawn hours of a Tuesday in Canton, Mississippi, a home on Chestnut Alley became the scene of a brutal act of violence that claimed the lives of a young expectant mother and her brother. Maudilia Martina Ramirez Garcia, a 19-year-old Hispanic female who was eight months pregnant, was fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene on December 29, 2020. Her 20-year-old brother, Faustino Ramirez Garcia, was also found deceased outside the home, having been shot in the back of the head.
