On July 15, 2022, Robert Harold Nelson Jr., a 38-year-old male, was fatally shot in Jackson, Mississippi. The incident occurred while he was engaged in the routine task of putting air in his vehicle's tires at an Exxon gas station located on North State Street. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. During the same incident, a bystander was also struck by gunfire but fortunately survived.
