In the autumn of 2014, a discovery was made in an Oklahoma City park that would leave a family grieving and a community searching for answers. On October 13th of that year, police were called to Phillips Park in the northeast part of the city to check on the welfare of a person found lying in the grass. Upon their arrival, they found the body of 36-year-old Tyodis Dewayne Wright, a Black male who had been fatally shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
