An evening gathering at an event center in Oklahoma City on May 11, 2023, turned tragic, ending in the death of 19-year-old Zion Taylen Debusk. The young Black man was fatally shot after a dispute at the venue, located in the 2600 block of South Meridian Avenue, escalated into gunfire.
When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Debusk and another 19-year-old, Keithon Wilson, had succumbed to their injuries.
A third victim, a 22-year-old woman named Shy-Anne Stallings, was also found to have been shot. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but was expected to survive her injuries.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, law enforcement officials began an investigation into the altercation that led to the deadly violence. As of May 15, 2023, the Oklahoma City Police Department had not made any arrests in connection with the homicides. Authorities urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation. The case remains under investigation, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
