In the summer of 2018, the life of 27-year-old Kenneth Miguel Hardrict was tragically cut short in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On Monday, June 18, 2018, Hardrict was fatally shot in what police believe was an ambush. The incident occurred as he was sitting in a driveway after leaving a friend's home. This act of violence marked the 19th homicide in the city of Tulsa for that year.
Hardrict, a Black male born on January 7, 1991, in Monterey, California, was a resident of Tulsa at the time of his passing.
The investigation into Hardrict's death led authorities to a suspect, 35-year-old Rarue Caddy. At the time of the shooting, Caddy was already wanted on an outstanding warrant for assault and battery from a 2016 incident. A squad with the Tulsa Fugitive Warrants task force had been actively searching for him. Following the homicide, their efforts intensified, leading to Caddy's arrest on the evening of Thursday, June 21, 2018. He was located at a residence near West 46th Street North and North Osage Drive.
Kenneth Hardrict was remembered as a man with a deep love for music, a passion he had pursued from a young age. He was a 2009 graduate of Jenks High School and had attended Tulsa Community College to study Business Management. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found a record label. He left behind a daughter and his fiancée, along with a large extended family and many friends who mourned his untimely death. Funeral services were held, and he was laid to rest at Rolling Oaks Cemetery in Tulsa.
