Do you know who murdered Laharry? In the winter of 2012, a young man's life was abruptly cut short in a senseless act of violence that continues to baffle investigators. Laharry 'LJ' Myers Jr., a 21-year-old male, was gunned down on the evening of Monday, February 6th, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Remembered as a talented and determined point guard from his days at Memorial High School, Myers was known for his tenacity on the basketball court.
On the night of his death, Myers was taking a break from his job at a local H&R Block.
He had simply walked across the street to an Asian Express restaurant located at 4748 N. Peoria to get something to eat. It was in the parking lot of this restaurant that tragedy struck. Patrons in the vicinity reported hearing the distinct sound of several gunshots piercing the evening air. When they emerged, they discovered Myers, who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Despite the initial response from the Tulsa Police Department, the investigation into Laharry Myers's murder quickly grew cold. While several people heard the gunfire, no witnesses came forward who had actually seen the shooting take place. Homicide detectives, working in conjunction with the organized gang unit, diligently pursued potential leads and sought out possible witnesses, but their efforts yielded no suspects and no clear motive for the killing. The case remains unsolved, a painful open wound for his family and friends, with the Tulsa Police Department's Cold Case Unit still seeking any information that might lead to an arrest and finally bring justice for Laharry Myers.
