On a tragic Friday night in Oklahoma City, a young man's life was cut short in a violent encounter that stemmed from a prearranged drug deal. Jake Gaines McLain, a 19-year-old male from Idabel, was fatally shot in his car on March 15, 2019. A former football player at Idabel High School, McLain had graduated in 2018 and was the son of a McCurtain County deputy. He was remembered for his infectious smile and ability to make people laugh.
