In the winter of 2017, a young Black man named Antwon Denziel Chamblee, 23, lost his life in a fatal shooting in Oklahoma City. On the evening of January 25th, police were called to the 6600 block of South Kelley Avenue, where they discovered Chamblee critically wounded on a front lawn. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
Investigators learned that shortly before the shooting, Chamblee had been in a black Dodge Charger
with three other individuals. The group was seen together at a convenience store. However, their time together took a tragic turn when Chamblee was shot as he was getting out of the vehicle and left for dead. The circumstances surrounding the moments leading up to the shooting remained a key focus for law enforcement as they pieced together the events of that night.
The investigation into Antwon Chamblee's death led to the identification of two suspects. Courterris Swain and Steven Wallace were subsequently arrested and faced charges of first-degree murder. In addition to the murder charge, Swain was also charged with discharging a firearm from a vehicle. The arrests marked a significant development in the case as authorities continued to seek justice for Chamblee and his family.
