On a Thanksgiving Day that should have been filled with warmth and family, Richard Gene Nelson Jr., a 36-year-old man, was tragically shot and killed in the backyard of his Oklahoma City home. The date was November 24, 2016, a day that would forever be marked by violence and loss for his loved ones.
