In the cold, early hours of January 26, 2024, violence erupted within the walls of a vacant building near Northwest 10th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Oklahoma City. When police responded to reports of a shooting, they discovered a grim scene. Inside, 35-year-old Danielle Mahaffey was found deceased, a victim of gunfire. Nearby, 29-year-old Joshua Williams, a Black/African American male, was found critically injured, having also been shot.
