In May 2023, a horrific scene was discovered on a property near Henryetta, Oklahoma, about 90 miles east of Oklahoma City, where seven individuals were found deceased in what authorities determined to be a mass murder-suicide. The perpetrator was identified as 39-year-old Jesse McFadden. The victims included his wife, Holly McFadden, 35; her three children, Rylee Allen, 17, Michael Mayo, 15, and Tiffany Guess, 13; and two of Tiffany's friends, Ivy Webster, 14, and Brittany Brewer, 15.
The tragic discovery was made after McFadden failed to appear for his scheduled jury trial on charges of soliciting and possessing child sexual abuse material. This led law enforcement to his property where they found the bodies. The victims were all found to have sustained gunshot wounds to the head. Investigators believe Jesse McFadden shot his wife, her three children, and their two visiting friends before turning the gun on himself. The weapon used was a 9mm handgun that had been purchased by his wife, Holly, in January 2022.
McFadden was a convicted sex offender, having previously served 17 years in prison for a 2003 rape conviction. He had been released in 2020. At the time of the murders, he was out on bond for the new charges he was facing. Ominous text messages sent by McFadden to his accuser in the new case suggested he was distraught about the prospect of returning to prison and blamed her for the potential downfall of his life. The investigation concluded that Jesse McFadden was the sole suspect, and his death was ruled a suicide. The motive is believed to be his desire to avoid his impending trial and a return to prison.
