On the evening of April 1, 2023, Francisco Simon Tanajara, a 38-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally shot at the Whiskey Barrel Saloon located at 4120 Newcastle Road in southwest Oklahoma City. The incident, which occurred around 8:57 PM, escalated from an altercation between several biker gangs inside the bar, resulting in a chaotic exchange of gunfire.
Tragically, Tanajara was one of three individuals who lost their lives that night.
The other deceased victims were identified as Eric Oberholtzer and Andrew Sump. In addition to the fatalities, three other people, Felicia Wallace, Clayton Owens, and Tyler Myers, sustained injuries.
In the aftermath of the shooting, law enforcement launched an investigation that led to several arrests. One of the wounded, Tyler Myers, was taken into custody upon his release from the hospital and booked on a complaint of murder in the first degree. Subsequently, two more suspects, Nicklus Sweet and Douglas Jacobs, were apprehended by Oklahoma City Police Department officers and members of the US Marshals Service. Sweet faced charges including shooting with intent to kill, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, accessory to murder, and conspiracy. Jacobs was arrested on charges of murder in the first degree, accessory to murder, conspiracy, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The investigation into the deadly biker gang shootout remained ongoing.
