In the late hours of a summer evening in Oklahoma City, a tragic event unfolded that cut short the life of 20-year-old Darius Edwards. On June 13, 2023, police responded to a call about a shooting at an apartment complex on Knight Lake Drive. When they arrived around 10:09 PM, they discovered Edwards outside an apartment, suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel rendered aid at the scene before rushing him to OU Medical Center.
Despite their efforts, Darius Edwards succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His death was recorded as the 38th homicide in Oklahoma City for the year.
Investigators believe the shooting was the result of an armed confrontation that Edwards had become involved in. The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Samara Kenoly, 17-year-old Mahlonni Bobo, and 18-year-old Dante Winslett. All three were subsequently booked on complaints of First Degree Murder.

He had a passion for fast cars and video games but cherished spending time with his family and friends above all. Described as a musician, artist, and comedian, he was deeply dedicated to his loved ones. He was employed as a Sales Account Manager, a job that had recently allowed him to travel, something he was reportedly excited about. His life was celebrated at a homegoing service on June 22, 2024.
