In the summer of 2019, a heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Kenosha, Wisconsin, forever altering the lives of a local family. On June 17, five-year-old Dakari Weldon, a young African American boy, was at a residence where a day like any other took a tragic turn. A single gunshot shattered the quiet, and in its wake, Dakari was left with a fatal wound. In the panic and fear that followed, he was driven to Froedtert South Hospital.
