In a quiet mobile home park in Fairdale, a neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of 45-year-old Donald Wayne Box was tragically cut short. On the evening of September 2, 2016, an unexpected visitor arrived at his residence on Woodchester Way, setting in motion a chain of events that would end in violence.
That evening, a man named Joshua Goodman, then 29 years old, entered Box's home. Goodman was reportedly looking for Box's father.
When Box informed him that his father was not there and asked him to leave, a confrontation erupted between the two men. The argument quickly escalated, and in a moment of violence, Goodman shot and killed Box.
Following the fatal shooting, law enforcement was called to the scene. An investigation was launched, and it did not take long for authorities to identify a suspect. The morning after the incident, officers with the Louisville Metro Police Department arrested Joshua Goodman.
